Our sites in the Rotterdam port area belong to the Product Solutions division of ExxonMobil. With the latest technology and innovations, we are always working to renew and make our sites and products more sustainable. We manufacture base products for all kinds of daily products that you encounter in, for example, (electric) cars, hospitals, construction sites, and windmills. The best-known brand names of our products are Esso, Mobil, and Mobil1.

• The refinery is integrated with the aromatics plant and is one of the most modern and efficient of its kind. The refinery processes various types of crude oil into high-quality base oils for lubricants, chemical raw materials, and fuels.
• The aromatics plant is one of the largest aromatics producers in the world. The plant is integrated with the refinery, resulting in significant energy and cost savings. We encounter aromatics in, for example, PET bottles and Styrofoam, in electrical (kitchen) equipment, car parts, sports shoes, and synthetic fibers and resins.
• The oxo alcohol plant is the largest producer of plasticizers in Europe. Plasticizers can be used to make 'hard' plastic soft and pliable. They are used to give flexibility to products such as cables, textiles, floor coverings, furniture, and footwear.
• The lubricating oil mixing plant in Pernis mixes base oils and additives (additives) into various lubricants. The products vary from solid motor oil to super-refined lubricants, intended for (electric) cars, aircraft, and ships, but also for industrial machines and wind turbines.

What role you will play in our team

In the Rotterdam Area, we are offering job opportunities for Chemical, Mechanical, and Materials Engineers.

What you will do

In your first role as Process Engineer, you will ensure the optimal operation of a manufacturing unit and work in close collaboration with our operators, maintenance, and engineering specialists. You strive for optimal efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and operational safety. In case of a first role as Equipment Engineer, you will ensure the reliability and mechanical Integrity of a manufacturing Unit and strive for the most cost-effective strategy to achieve this.

About you

Skills and Qualifications

• Fluent in English language skills: understanding, reading, writing, and speaking
• At least intermediate in Dutch language skills: understanding, reading, writing, and speaking and if not yet fluent, prepared to commit to further improve your Dutch language skills.
• A current student or have recently completed university studies at least at MSc level. PhD is not required, however, candidates holding a PhD are welcome to apply.
• Education: Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Petroleum/Geoscience Engineering, or Applied Physics. Preferred universities: Technical Universities in Delft, Eindhoven, Groningen, Twente.
• Analytical, driven, result-oriented, and focused on getting the best out of yourself and your team.

What role you will play in our team

As an intern with ExxonMobil you get a well-defined task and will be coached by a dedicated ExxonMobil coordinator.  The internship environment is young and dynamic and gives a clear image of a typical starting environment.  Each internship subject contributes to our business and will give you a ‘taste’ of a typical starting position within ExxonMobil.

What you will do

During your internship – which can vary in duration and content - at one of our facilities in the Rotterdam area, you will perform a project for one of our engineering departments and will learn to work independently in a professional work environment.
 

The various areas in which you may work cover virtually all aspects of the engineering work.  Typical projects covered by the interns are for example:
 

• The optimization of upstream unit configurations via advanced process simulation software to enhance the units yield and its benefits.
• Understanding and optimizing the steam consumption of one of our plants
• Reviewing our Machinery Equipment strategy and advising the different business teams on preventative maintenance strategies.
• Performing a through pipeline logistic study to determine constraints which might have an impact on the profitability of one of our plants.

About you

• fluency in English language skills: understanding, reading, writing and speaking
• at least intermediate in Dutch language skills: understanding, reading, writing and speaking
• a university or recently completed Master student
• a university education in Msc Engineering Science (Preferred Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Aerospace, Applied Physics), preferably from TU Delft, Eindhoven Twente or Groningen
• available for at least a 3 months internship

FindBusiness ondersteunt organisaties bij het verbreden van hun netwerk op marketing- en salesgebied. We zijn specialist op gebied van B2B leadgeneratie, wat inhoudt dat we in samenwerking met onze opdrachtgevers aan de slag gaan voor een groter klantenbestand.

Wij fungeren voor klanten met een complex – en langlopend verkoopproces als verlenging van hun commerciële organisatie. Op verschillende manieren (telefonisch, e-mail, LinkedIn) benaderen we de doelmarkten van onze klanten met als doel om voor hen nieuwe klanten te genereren.

Functieomschrijving

Bij zowel Venderion als Findbusiness ben je als commercieel trainee verantwoordelijk voor het benaderen van organisaties in Nederland.

Dit doen we vanuit een goed doordacht salesplan. We zoeken scherpzinnige en enthousiaste collega’s die met ons mee willen denken en onze plannen in actie willen omzetten. Je bent verantwoordelijk voor het leggen van het eerste contact, het onderhouden van contacten en het inplannen van salesafspraken. Zowel koude acquisitie, bij bedrijven die nog niet in ons netwerk zitten, als warme acquisitie, bij bedrijven met wie we al wel eens in gesprek zijn geweest, komen aan bod.

Op termijn kunnen er ook andere taken op je bord komen, afhankelijk van hoe je je ontwikkelt en waar je eigen ambities liggen.

We zijn geen callcenter, werken niet met scripts of bonussen. Dat betekent dat we een intensief trainingsproces hebben, waarin je verschillende gesprekstechnieken en communicatiestrategieën opdoet. Deze kun je gebruiken in de gesprekken die je met (potentiële) klanten voert, maar ook daarbuiten.

Je werkt in een hecht team, waarbij je altijd kan terugvallen op de ervaring van je collega’s.

Functie-eisen

- Je bent bezig met een HBO en/of academische studie;

- Je beheerst de Nederlandse taal uitstekend;

- Je bent tijdens kantoortijden 8 uur per week beschikbaar. Je mag deze uren eventueel over verschillende werkdagen verdelen;

- Je hebt er geen problemen mee om vanuit ons kantoor in Eindhoven (op het TU-terrein naast Eindhoven Centraal) te werken;

- Je bent minimaal 1 jaar beschikbaar (geen stages etc. van 40 uur)
