The Committee

Jimmy Guo – Chair

Hey, I’m Jimmy. Currently, I am a 3rd year BCs student in medical engineering. I like to hang out with friends, going to the gym and going out with my friends and drink some beer.
I like to travel with friends, so this is the right committee for me!
As the chair, I support everybody in their task, leading meetings and filling in the gaps.

I look forward to the trip with everybody!

Zaza van Heugten – Secretary

My name is Zaza and next year (2026) I’ll be starting my third year as a BMT student. I love to spend my free time playing football, cycling or running, but I can also really enjoy a good night out.

Travelling has always been something I loved. After high school I went backpacking through South-Korea and Japan for 2 months and after that I kept looking forward to my next trip. Which is why I was interested in organising the upcoming BuEx.

I think this trip will be a lot of fun and I’m already looking forward to it!

Wout van de Heijden – Treasurer

Hello, I am Wout. I am a third year BMT student. As hobbies I love playing sports and going out with friends. I would like to explore the biomedical field in Spain to see how it compares to here in the Netherlands. Besides that, I love travelling and visiting other countries, that’s why I joined this commission.
I will be the treasurer of this commission, I will try to keep this trip as cheap as possible for everyone. I hope to see you during the trip

Manouk Mels – Sponsor Coordinator & Vice-Treasurer

My name is Manouk, and next year (2026) I’ll be starting my fourth year of the Bachelor in Biomedical Engineering. Over the past few years, I’ve been involved in several committees at Protagoras, and I’m really excited to now be part of the BuEx committee!

I absolutely love traveling and discovering new countries, cultures, so organizing this study trip is a perfect fit. Although I’ve helped organize activities before, planning something as big as this trip is definitely a new challenge. I’m looking forward to exploring the biomedical world in Spain and maybe even finding a university where I’m gonna do my Master’s one day:)

Within the BuEx committee, I’m the Sponsor Coordinator and Vice-Treasurer. My main job will be to reach out to companies and try to get as many sponsors on board as possible, so we can make this trip as cheap as possible 😉

Hannah Erisman – Excursion coordinator & Public Relations

Hi everyone,

My name is Hannah and upcoming year (2026) I’ll be starting my third year of Medical Sciences and Technology here in Eindhoven. I love spending time with my friends, cooking, and organizing activities for members of our association. I’m also very curious to see what the biomedical field is like in Spain! That is the reason I joined the BuEx committee.

For this trip, I will be the excursion coordinator, so I’ll mainly be organizing the activities during the trip. I am also helping out Femke with PR.

It’s going to be a super fun and interesting trip, so I hope to see you there!

Femke Baede – Logistics & Public Relations

Hey hey, I am Femke Baede and a third-year bachelor student in Biomedical Engineering.
My hobbies are baking, traveling, and meeting up with friends. At the moment I’m also active in the Foodcie committee of Protagoras. I’ve planned solo trips before, but a group excursion like this one is a new challenge for me. That is why I wanted to join the BuEx committee.

In the Buex, I will be responsible for the logistics (transport & hotels) and PR. I’m looking forward in planning this trip for everyone, and I hope we will have an amazing week in Madrid and Barcelona!

Patricia Lensen – Logistics, Excursion & Vice-Chair

Hey everyone, I’m Patricia, 19 years old and a third-year bachelor’s student in Medical Engineering. In my spare time, I enjoy hanging out with my friends, listening to music, watching series, exploring cultures, and diving deep into various topics to understand them better. I have always enjoyed traveling and wanted to expand my knowledge in the field of Biomedical Engineering, which is why I joined this committee as my first committee experience.

Within the BuEx 2025 committee, I will serve as a bridge between logistics and the excusions. I’am also vice-chair. I look forward to organizing this year’s study trip to Barcelona and Madrid with the rest of the committee, ensuring that all participating students have a comprehensive experience of the Biomedical Engineering field in Spain by exploring companies, universities with aligned studies, and the surrounding culture.
