Eerstejaars opgelet: woensdagavond 1 mei is het eindelijk tijd voor de langverwachte EJCantus! Alles draait deze cantus om dieren, dus het belooft een wilde avond te worden. Van tevoren wordt er gezorgd voor frietjes zodat iedereen een goede bodem kan leggen. En dan barst de dierentuin los: onder het genot van een goud goedje of (fruit)water gaan we alle liedjes meebrullen! Schrijf je in voor maar €6,50 voor een avond vol vertier, een goede bodem en genoeg drankjes om de dorst te lessen en de avond door te komen! Dus trek vooral al je kleren met een panter- of een zebraprint aan en zorg er voor dat je er bij bent!

The ‘Bergkruip’ drink will take place for the fifth time on May 2nd! This edition promises to be even more spectacular, daring and exhausting! Do you dare to take the climb? That is why the ProBoKoCo organizes a drink for you at which you receive 20 shots in increasing percentage. In between, there are four soft drinks and a sausage sandwich on the route: a real mountain goat knows when to save his strength. There is no other route than this one. The only question is: Will you make it to the top?

Make sure you have eaten well before and be there no later than 6 p.m. to start this climb. If you arrive later, it will unfortunately no longer be possible to start the climb!

Op dinsdag 21 mei zal de VerkiezingsALV plaatsvinden! Tijdens deze ALV mogen kandidaatsbesturen zich verkiesbaar stellen voor het worden van het aankomend 36e bestuur van Protagoras!

Wat moet je doen als kandidaatsbestuur?

• Maken van een verkiezings poster, deze moet uiterlijk maandag 13 mei hangen in In Vivo. Deze dien je zelf te printen en aan het bestuur te overhandigen. 
• Opstellen van een beleid & begroting die gepresenteerd wordt op de ALV. De slides hiervan dien je uiterlijk maandag 13  mei op te sturen naar This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
• De naam van het kandidaatsbestuur en alle namen van de kandidaten van dit bestuur moeten uiterlijk vrijdag 3 mei gemaild worden naar This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Als je niet uiterlijk vrijdag 3 mei de namen hebt doorgegeven en maandag 13 mei bovenstaande stukken hebt doorgegeven, zal je helaas ook geen kandidaatsbestuur kunnen vormen. Mocht je een kandidaatsbestuur willen vormen, laat dit alvast weten aan het bestuur om te voorkomen dat er te veel kandidaatsbesturen zijn.

Op de donderdag van de Lustrumweek, 30 mei, staat een sportieve én gezellige activiteit gepland. Willen je VVV’tjes (vrienden van vroeger) ook zo graag beleven hoe het hier in Eindhoven is? Of hebben ze gewoon heel veel zin om te volleyballen? Schrijf je dan nu in voor het VVVolleybal toernooi samen met minimaal 1 en maximaal 3 VVV’tjes en laat ze de Lustrumweek meebeleven. De activiteit zal later ook nog afgesloten worden met een gezellige borrel én een BMT feest in de Villa Fiesta! Neem dus jouw leukste VVV'tjes mee naar deze uitgelezen kans om te laten zien hoe het er bij Protagoras aan toe gaat!

For 22 years, dispuut der SvBMT Protagoras Uisge Beatha has organised the big Knowledge Quiz, which from this year onwards we will rename the one and only pUB quiz! In this quiz, teams of 4 students and/or staff members of the faculty of Biomedical Engineering get the chance to settle the eternal debate about who has the most knowledge: the eager to learn student or the wise staff members. To contribute to this issue again this year, we would like to cordially invite you to participate in the pUBquiz 2024! Registration is possible with a team of four, of which at least two members are connected to the faculty of BMT. Note: Questions will be on the screen in English, the presenters will speak in Dutch.

When: Tuesday 30 April 2024, 19:00 - 22:30.

Registration fee: 8,- per team

Save the date for the Lustrum week! 

The Lustrum week will take place in quartile 4 and that means that you can expect a breathtaking amount of activities that week!! 

The 7th Lustrum week takes place in week 22 (May 27 to June 1). With a total of 10 activities, this promises to be a great week! The activities themselves will be announced later on! 

But don't worry, we can already give you a sneak peek. On May 30, two VVV (friends from the past) activities will be organized. In the afternoon there will be a sports tournament, which will end with a nice drink in the evening! So update your VVVs, because they don't want to miss this!

T.E.S.T. is looking for members for the 2023-2024 team!

The student team T.E.S.T. is participating in the SensUs competition (in September 2024) with the goal of designing and building a biosensor. You will collaborate with enthusiastic students from various technical backgrounds. You will also work closely with various companies, organizations, and experts in the fields of biosensors, healthcare, and business. During the competition, you can gain laboratory experience, as well as experience with electronics and hardware, while also developing your soft skills such as pitching, presenting, reporting, and meeting in a professional setting. There are also plenty of opportunities to expand your network, which can be helpful in finding a future internship or graduation project!

We are organizing an information lunch for all interested students on October 18th in Matrix Light Assembly from 12:40 to 13:20, with free pizza!! Here, we will provide more details about what a year at T.E.S.T. looks like and why it's so enjoyable to be a part of T.E.S.T. Registration is available through this link.

As you might have noticed already, we now have a My Tue page on the website! You can find it in the main menu and it can be used as a shortcut for navigating to frequently used websites such as Planon room bookings, Osiris, printing on campus and your time schedule.

At the TU/e, we aim to reduce the study pressure of students and the work pressure of
academic staff. One of the opportunities for improvement is the schedule of the academic
calendar and we highly value the perspective of students on this project. I need students' input
to judge if redesigning the academic calendar is desirable and how this could be done to best
suit their needs. The data obtained in this project will be used to provide the TU/e Executive
Board with advice for an improved design of the academic calendar. The results will also be
discussed in my master thesis project under the supervision of dr. ir. P.A.M. (Ad) Kleingeld
(TU/e, IE&IS).

I will ask to complete a questionnaire that will take about 20-25 minutes followed by a small
discussion/interview (5-10 mins) to get a better understanding of students' needs and wants.
All students will get a 10 euros voucher from a school cafeteria for their participation. All
bachelor, premaster and master students from all studies are welcomed in this research. There
will be questions about how they experience your study load and your
preferences in the academic year. There is no preparation needed. You can reach out to me

questionnaire and have a small discussion. We can meet with the volunteers starting from
now.

On May 30, the Election GMM will take place! During this GMM, candidate boards may apply to become the candidate 35th board. 

What do you have to do as a candidate board?

• Make an election poster, which has to be placed in In Vivo by Tuesday, May 23 at the latest. You will need to print this yourself and hand it to the board. 
• Draw up a policy and budget to be presented at the GMM. You must send the slides to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. by Tuesday 23 May at the latest.
• The name of the candidate board and all names of the candidates of this board should be emailed to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. by Tuesday, May 23 at the latest.

Therefore, if you have not submitted the above documents by Tuesday, May 23, you will unfortunately not be able to form a candidate board either. Furthermore, it is essential to communicate to the board as soon as possible should you intend to form a candidate board. This is to avoid having too many candidate boards.

De Protter van de Maand april van 2022 is bekend! Uiteraard is de winnaar al even bekend, maar liet het artikel nog eventjes op zich wachten. Er waren weer veel nominaties, onder andere voor en door Max Bossink omdat ie zo'n toffe gast is, voor Steef Tielemans omdat hij als enige eerstejaars bij de Batavierenrace het evenement kleur wist te geven en voor de ICT commissie omdat ze het beeldscherm wisten te maken. Maar uiteindelijk kan er maar 1 winnaar zijn en dat is Dennis Brink geworden! Waar Steef de show stal met zijn komkommerlied en inspirerende enthousiasme, was Dennis de echte held van de Batavierenrace. Toen bleek dat we door blessures, ziektes, katers en dergelijke een etappe over hadden die niet bemand was vreesde team Protagoras voor de tijdstraf die zou volgen als de etappe niet werd gelopen. Maar dat was buiten Dennis gerekend. Na een lange nacht in de avondploeg waarbij hij al over de straten was gevlogen voor een toptijd in zijn etappe, offerde hij zich op om ook de eerste etappe te lopen van de ochtendploeg! Niet alleen liep hij 2 etappes, maar zijn 2 etappes waren allebei in de top-5 van hardst gelopen etappes van het team!! Een ongekende prestatie en daarom is het ondanks alle andere nominatieslogisch dat hij de prijs voor de Protter van de Maand april dubbel en dwars verdiende! Daarom is Dennis verkozen tot de Protter van de Maand van april!

The first Protter of the Month has been announced! From all the nominations that had been sent in Lanistae has been chosen as Protter of the Month September!! They brought back our dear pedelstaff, which they had given a wonderful upgrade, after another studyassociation had taken it from us. They will also repair the staff so that their beautiful upgrades will be back in place before the next CoBo. All credit to Lanistae who have been given a medal for their actions.
